ATP's Story

A two-time National Champion and past representative of the United States of America in synchronized skating, I've experienced first-hand the impact proper fueling can have on sport performance. Through overcoming various injuries - each threatening my athletic career, I've dedicated my personal and professional life in supporting athletic development and fine-tuning sports performance through sport-specific nutrition and exercise training.

Happy YOU

One of the most difficult tasks an athlete will face is the transition from the athletic stage to everyday life. Most athletes have participated in their sport from a very young age - adopting an eating and training regimen that far outweighs the nutrition and exercise needs of the average person. Whether it be injury or planned retirement, especially as it relates to the elite athlete, transitioning to a nutrition and exercise regimen for life can be incredibly taxing - having to adopt a new perspective as it relates to food, exercise and sport. 

Happy YOU was created out of my own personal experience and observation of others coping with athletic retirement. On average, the elite athlete consumes anywhere from an estimated 1,500 - 3,000+ calories extra per day while training about 25+ hours per week. Typically, when the athlete reaches retirement, there is a dramatic drop in exercise and no change in eating pattern. As a result, dramatic weight gain and an increase in health risk(s) can occur. If the reason for athletic retirement is unplanned or due to onset of injury, the transition can become even more mentally strenuous for the retired athlete.

The primary goal of Happy YOU is to provide athletes with the tools needed in making the transition into athletic retirement enjoyable and sustainable. Happy YOU assists the athlete in discovering a newfound perspective when it comes to fueling and exercise training. Similar to that of a coach, Happy YOU's unique design self-empowers and motivates the athlete to become a fueling CHAMPION FOR LIFE.
